On December 16th, the Daily Show devoted almost the entire episode to the travesty that is the U.S. Senate’s failure to pass the healthcare bill for 9/11 1st Responders.
You can read the full text of the House Bill that passed – H.R.847 – James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010 on the Library of Congress site, at

This, my friends, is the true promise of television fully realized:
I can’t stop watching this clip and it makes me laugh every time.
Don’t get me wrong – if a bonobo asked me to wear a bunny suit, I’d do it. Bonobos are fascinating. It’s the deadpan, Monty Python-esque nature of the clip that leaves me in hysterics.
Here’s Tim Gunn being adorable on the Daily Show:
I laughed so hard at Lewis Black’s piece on Eat Pray Love that I couldn’t catch my breath a few times. (I have a nasty lung infection and the air quality is really horrible so breathing is a bit challenging anyway, but I’d think this was hilarious even if I didn’t feel like Death’s Daughter-in-law).
I don’t know how I missed this – it’s great.
I’ve been trapped in a RightWing news bubble all week hearing hysterical shrieking about the evils of healthcare reform.
Thank the gods for Lewis Black.
I haven’t been able to form any coherent thoughts on Israel, Gaza and Hamas. Luckily, Jon Stewart came to my rescue and said it all for me:
I haven’t gone to any demonstrations because I always end up wedged between some neo-con guy advocating that all Arabs be rounded up, inventoried and exterminated and some jackass (invariably a white guy with dreds yelling that Israel has no right to exist.
Although to be fair, the jokes pretty much write themselves on this one. Still, I’ll have whatever he was drinking, please!
I thought this segment was longer, so I’m guessing whatever segment was on immediately after this was really funny, too, but I lack the energy to look for it to post.
