Artomatic Picks: Andy Cleavenger

I’m slowly making my way through Artomatic and plan to have a couple different picks lists assembled by this weekend to assist my friends and neighbors who’re feeling a bit overwhelmed by the size of the show. Ill-health has slowed me down a bit, but while I get my act together, enjoy Andy’s list. There isn’t an artist on it I’d remove from the list – this is all really great stuff.

Snap to Grid: Artomatic 2012.

Sometimes, dreams do come true. Sort of.

Yesterday I blogged about the deeply bizarre dream I had about, among other things, going to San Francisco to collect reliquary items with Shauna Lawhorne in order to please Novie Trump and just hours later I got the Washington Glass School class schedule for summer, which includes a class on reliquaries with Novie & Tim.

Guess what I’m doing in July and August?

(Apologies to my subscribers, who were emailed a very messy draft of that post by mistake. I fixed it immediately but the email had already gone out.).

Get Focused

The nice folks from the Future of Music Coalition are spreading the word about a paid focus group this week:

Are you a musician, visual artist, dancer, actor, filmmaker or other artist living in the DC area?

Are you interested in making $50?

If you answered YES to both questions, we invite you to participate in an artist-centric focus group on Thursday, Feb 16. The meeting will be 90 minutes long and held at a Metro-accessible location in the DC metro area.

Email artistfocusgroup@reingold.com or call 202-333-0400 and ask for Jillian to find out how you can get involved!

Please repost and share widely with your artist friends. We want to hear from a diverse range of DC-metro artists.

I don’t know anything else about this program, use the contact info in the post to get more details or go to the facebook page to find out more.

My 2012 365 Project

Wicker monkey on 365 Project

Over at 365 Project I’m posting a new picture every day. Not the most artful or thoughtful picture, just the picture that sums up my day.

At the end of each month I’m planning to post a short story (or maybe a series of connected story fragments) that are inspired by that month’s photos. I can guarantee a complete lack of reality or fact in those posts – that’s the point! I haven’t quite figured out the format for those posts yet, but it’s almost the end of January so I guess I should figure it out!
