While waiting for a lecture to start last night I flipped though the 4 year old moleskine I mistakenly brought with me. I found it entertaining, especially this page from early April 2007:

Yesterday Michele and I were at Natural History to see the new ants exhibit (more on that over at the antomatic blog) and Michele noticed how amorous the grasshoppers were. I promised to send her a link to some pictures I took last year.
Not having time or energy to post anything else, I’ll post the link here instead of emailing it to her. There’s a whole series of them, the first picture is here.

Every year on a certain day, small winged ants pour out from under our porch steps, party for a while in the herb garden and then fly out into the world. Today we happened to be in the yard when the shindig began.
“It’s like they’re having their own ant Woodstock!” Husband exclaimed.
I think he was right.
