Puzzled U.S. border police arrested a Mexican smuggler with 88 pounds (40-kg) of cheese hidden in a special compartment in his truck, police said on Friday.

No word on whether he was the same guy they busted in 2003 with 800 pounds of bologna. Perhaps he was just on a pilgrimage to the Indiana State Fair to see Sarah Kauffman’s 2300 pound cheese scultpure?

“The sculpture is made of ten varieties of Indiana cheese and depicts a little girl.” Sadly, I couldn’t find a picture on the Indiana State Fair website, although I did notice that they have scheduled performances by Pat Boone, Kid Rock and Kanye West, but, sadly, not all at the same time.

I noticed the following ad in the Washington Post Health Section today:

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR STUDY ON CHEESE EATING
Volunteers will be paid $100 for completing the study…Study will require eating 2 meals consisting only of cheese…

The contact email was for someone at The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, although I couldn’t find any references to it on their site. (I didn’t bother to include the whole ad since I’m not in the business of running ads here. Plus, well, laziness).
