Went to the opening of Strictly Painting 6: Color Field Revisited at the [tag]McLean Project for the Arts[/tag], the 947th [tag]Washington Color School[/tag] tribute show of the year. They were actually opening 3 shows at once that night and it was too crowded to see much of the work. I forgot to mention it until I saw Jessica Dawson’s review yesterday in the Washington Post:
For that, we can be thankful. Color School, of course, represents just a fraction of what happened at mid-century. And the movement’s impact, this show readily admits, was hardly overwhelming.
