Day Break

We finished watching all 13 episodes of Day Break and this has to be one of the best and most interesting shows that the Networks killed in recent years. It sounds monotonous – Taye Diggs is Detective Brett Hopper, he’s being framed for murder but he’s stuck in a timeloop and keeps waking up to find it’s the same morning over and over again. Time is still moving forward for Hopper, so when he gets shot, he’s still wounded the next day. His beard grows. And, most importantly, he remembers the pieces of the puzzle he’s put together from the preceding days. Adam Baldwin, Mitch Pileggi, Victoria Pratt and Moon Bloodgood co-star. Actually, it’s a large, pitch-perfect ensemble cast so it almost seems wrong to single anyone out as a co-star. I’m glad someone tipped me that Amazon was selling the set for less than twenty bucks (still is, in fact), it’s completely worth it.

I even have to work for my laziness

Recycling is good for the planet, so I was going to be lazy and link to a few old posts about New Year’s instead of actually having to think of words and type them in this little box. Sadly, I’ve discovered that I haven’t restored a lot of the January archives.

Damn.

Oh well.

Exciting new project launching tomorrow, stay tuned for details!

Didn't these people see Poltergeist 2?

Today we were at [tag]Crystal River Archaeological State Park[/tag]. The signs there are quite clear: do not leave the trail, keep your dog on a leash. And yet, we all watched this couple march right off the trail and climb a steep hill, where they then let their dogs poop. They didn’t bother to clean up after them, either. The park ranger actually got on a P.A. system to yell at them. It was a 1,600-2,500 year old burial mound. The blot that must leave on one’s karma is probably visible from outer space. The most remarkable part was that they didn’t seem the slightest bit chastened.

Sheep Week continues

Sunday night I started [tag]Blood Price[/tag], the second book in [tag]Tanya Huff[/tag]’s series about a private investigator who works with a vampire to solve crimes. (It’s better than I just made it sound). The first book was published in 1991 and has recently been turned into a TV series. ([tag]Blood Ties[/tag] – I haven’t watched it yet).

In Blood Price, detective Vicki Nelson is hired to solve a series of murders on…a sheep farm.
