Today we were at [tag]Crystal River Archaeological State Park[/tag]. The signs there are quite clear: do not leave the trail, keep your dog on a leash. And yet, we all watched this couple march right off the trail and climb a steep hill, where they then let their dogs poop. They didn’t bother to clean up after them, either. The park ranger actually got on a P.A. system to yell at them. It was a 1,600-2,500 year old burial mound. The blot that must leave on one’s karma is probably visible from outer space. The most remarkable part was that they didn’t seem the slightest bit chastened.
Ok, I was loving the moment where the people got yelled at over the PA – and then they didn’t seem to get it. Damn. Some people are a waste of a good yelling at.
Happy Holidays!
It was pretty amazing. Especially since they kept leaving the path, even after they were yelled at.
