If the election were held today, would you vote for George W Bush or prefer to die in a fiery cataclysm?

I’m not suggesting the pollster who just called was biased or anything. Nope. Not a bit.

I’m digging a burrow and I’m not coming out til November 2nd. I’ve got my CNN election night map all ready. Have you seen those yet? They have little donkey and elephant dots and you can play along as the results come in.

I’m an over-achiever so I already finished my map, but Husband doesn’t think that putting donkey dots on all of the states ahead of time is going to have any actual impact on what happens.

If that’s the case, why did they give me 50 of each?

That wacky John Kerry

In today’s Washington Post, Hilary Rosen has an excellent piece titled “Outrage That Rings False.”

Nicolle Devenish, communications director for the Bush-Cheney campaign, said Thursday that John Kerry will pay a heavy political price for what he did. Lynne Cheney, the vice president’s wife, said, “This is a bad man.”

The crime? John Kerry in the final presidential debate suggested that we are all God’s children and used Mary Cheney as an example of a healthy gay person loved by her family.

The response from the Cheneys and the Bush campaign has been blatantly political. In fact, it is they who are using Mary Cheney — using her now to score points against Kerry and John Edwards over an issue on which they themselves are guilty of the wrongs that Kerry and Edwards are fighting against. Even after almost 30 years in Washington, I am surprised by the overwhelming hypocrisy and meanness of the Bush reelection campaign.

yes, I have heard about the naked painting of W

I keep getting outraged emails asking me if I have plans to protest over an alleged flagrant violation of the First Amendment. (see: Ailing City Museum Cancels Funky Furniture)

Nope. Not gonna do it.

Why? ‘Cause the news reports are becoming so innacurate it’s silly, folks. It’s like performance art – a giant game of telephone.

Before you try to shout me down, like many otherwise uninvolved artist/friends have, keep in mind the fundraiser was largely my responsibility so I might have at least a vague idea what’s up. Sure, I’m in the dark about some of the stuff that’s going on, I’m sure, but no one’s Constitutional Rights have been violated, of that I’m certain.

My neverending headache did make it onto my fave show, Countdown, last night:

And number one, the city museum of Washington, DC which has cancelled an exhibit called funky furniture. They thought it was supposed to depict furniture. In fact, it included a painting that was a takeoff on the masterpiece ìOlympiaî by the impressionist Manet that was a painting of President Bush naked. Need some wood?

Yeah, so that’s why I’ve been missing. Again.

liberal outrage fatigue

The Onion hits it out of the park today:

WASHINGTON, DC According to a study released Monday by the Hammond Political Research Group, many of the nation’s liberals are suffering from a vastly diminished sense of outrage.

“With so many right-wing shams to choose from, it’s simply too daunting for the average, left-leaning citizen to maintain a sense of anger,” said Rachel Neas, the study’s director. “By our estimation, roughly 70 percent of liberals are experiencing some degree of lethargy resulting from a glut of civil-liberties abuses, education funding cuts, and exorbitant military expenditures.”

San Francisco’s Arthur Flauman is one liberal who has chosen to take a hiatus from his seething rage over Bush Administration policies.
