I could have sworn it was raining crows last week Yes, the birds. It was pretty horrifying.

There were dead crows just lying about on the ground.  Were they falling out of the sky dead? Falling out of the sky and dying on impact? WHAT THE HELL WAS GOING ON???

The answer was in the Washington Post, which reported that a large flock of crows had been poisoned to thin their population, but someone got overzealous and spread too much poison, leading to widespread crow carnage. “Crows Die in Droves As Flock Is Thinned.” Later reports claimed that the flock turned out to number more than 4500.
