Talk about plans going awry…
Man and beast were stopped by security guards only after reaching the third floor, after apparently passing through the lobby unchallenged.
That’s not actually the part of the story that made it interesting to me, this is:
The patient was allowed to see them but it turned out to be the wrong horse.
Can you imagine? You go to all the trouble to take a [tag]horse[/tag] to a [tag]hospital[/tag] and then you take the wrong horse?
I’m all about taking animals to visit people who’re sick (provided they want to be visited by critters, of course). This reminded me of a program where, instead of dogs, they took exotic trained animals to nursing homes to visit with the residents. One of these animals was an adorable miniature horse. Do the therapeutic benefits of animal companionship outweighed the potential psychological damage of walking a very tiny horse past dementia patients? It was a very successful program so it must have been okay, but you still have to wonder…
The local TV news covered this and issued a plea for a picture. “Please, please, if you’ve got a picture of this, we’d love to have it.”
I think alcohol was involved.
You know Boris is a therapy dog, right? And that it’s been the most rewarding thing I’ve done since recovering. Right?
Uh, yeah. I’ve worked lots of therapy dogs, it seems like Boris would a good one. He’s a dog, so I don’t get what that’s got to do with confusing old people by letting bizarrely tiny horses run up and down the halls? I’m really tired and feverish, you may need to spell it out to me. I did write “I’m all about taking animals to visit people who’re sick” so I think I’m missing your point or maybe you’re missing mine? (That means I’m for therapy dogs, but not so much the horses – but I love horses).
Always been a fan of therapy ‘gators…and people who read carefully.
I am never ever going on a roadtrip with BeezelAgentus and Faith. Not cause I think they’d kill each other, but because they’d ultimately leave me by the side of the road and go on some sort of crime spree.
