Victory Ham

At first, I was perplexed by why NPR was giving lots of love to [tag]Reaper[/tag], a new CW show. But from a fundraising perspective, the people now writing checks to NPR spent their formative years (high) watching [tag]Twin Peaks[/tag] and [tag]Clerks[/tag], so it actually makes sense. The pilot ep of Reaper is directed by [tag]Kevin Smith[/tag], who’s conveniently currently making the media rounds flacking a book. It co-stars [tag]Ray Wise[/tag]. Plus, as it turns out, it’s very funny.

In a great nod to the tragically deceased but soon to be resurrected [tag]Dead Like Me[/tag], a brilliant black comedy about grim reapers, it also features Christine Willes (aka Delores Herbig) as a hellion.

just finished watching both seasons of Dead Like Me on DVD – purchased after we ran through Six Feet Under (sense a theme here?). Ellen Muth has a myspace blog (because who doesn’t these days) and reports that the DLM movie will air next summer on Showtime. Rube and Daisy aren’t in it but thankfully Mason is, he’s the best part of the show.

also Twin Peaks is finally being released on DVD with the pilot, due out this month – so excited! Get that damn fine coffee and cherry pie ready, I sense a viewing marathon.

I thought that Mason’s stint as a birthday clown was genius. Pure genius. The balloon animals…oh, the balloon animals.

I’ve just started making Sean and Rania watch Dead Like Me.
