Remember all that bickering between Batty and Jon last month about who is more aggressive, seals or sea lions?

CNN just did a story about a rash of attacks on surfers off the California coastline…by seals. I just searched their site and the LA Times site, but didn’t find anything. I’ll keep watching though. The injuries CNN was showing were pretty nasty. Ick.

Correction: the animals attacking are not seals, they are sea lions. It’s not normal, but rather the result of poisoning by a neurotoxin called domoic acid.
