Happy Birthday, Linkmeister!

It’s the eternally groovy Linkmeister’s birthday so go forth and celebrate accordingly. Many happy returns!

Argh. I must have saved this instead of publishing it. But wait, it’s still Sunday morning in Hawai’i so it’s not reeeeally late. Right? Just in case, let’s also call tomorrow Linkmeister’s Birthday (observed).

Hanging out eavesdropping on the trick-or-treaters

The interior and exterior of the house are lit only with candles, and I used the occasion to finally try out [tag]Amazon’s mp3 download service[/tag] to load up on spooky organ music. (Verdict: no DRM, cheaper than itunes for what I was looking for, and really fast. Highly, dangerously addictive).

I feel bad when small children stand at the end of our sidewalk and cry, but what can you do? Besides not scare them witless, I guess. I guess I could do that. Or not do that. You know what I mean.

The more amusing moments are tweeted. Keeps me amused between thundering hordes.

I sure do miss Ben’s homebrewed pumpkin ale. The pumpkin spice tea from [tag]Stash Tea[/tag] is tasty, but not the same thing at all.

Happy Halloween!

Paraphrased

Me: “Seems like a good omen. The first song I heard today was Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, I Put a Spell on You.”
Husband, concerned: “Where did you hear it?”
Me: “On the radio while you were still asleep.”
Husband, relieved: “OK. I thought you meant in your head or something.”

Speaking of Halloween-type music…

Later, when my equilibrium returns (do not ask), I’ll do the Happy Dance around the super amazingly awesome package I got last night from Jessica. I am soooo much cooler than you are. (Er, the rest of you, not Jessica).

Puppies and kids on parade

We missed the Marine Corps Marathon this year but we did make it out to the annual Del Ray Halloween parade, which clearly exceeded last year’s estimate of over 5,000 participants. I took a bunch of pictures but I haven’t put them up yet.
